When URI needs to exchange data with an external organization — a vendor, partner, state agency, or research collaborator — email often isn’t appropriate, especially for large volumes of data or anything sensitive. ITS can set up a secure, reliable channel for these transfers, whether they happen on a schedule or as a one-time exchange.
The right approach depends on your use case. ITS will work with you to determine the best solution — which may include options such as SFTP, S3-based staging, or a VPN connection, among others. To get started, contact its-citi@uri.edu.
