Thanks to a generous investment by Information Technology Services and grant contributions from two faculty members in the Institute for AI and Computational Research community, 12 new servers have been added to UNITY.
The new hardware expands available compute capacity for URI researchers and is available for use now. The added servers include:
- Four Intel Ice Lake nodes, each with 64 cores and 640 GB of memory.
- Eight Intel Sapphire Rapids nodes, each with 64 cores and 256 GB of memory.
These additions strengthen UNITY’s shared research computing environment and provide more capacity for computationally intensive work across the university.
