Over the past several months, the University of Rhode Island’s Enterprise Applications team has continued to enhance, integrate, and support the core systems the University community relies on every day, from admissions and advising to payments, payroll, and document management.
This summer was a particularly productive stretch, with several major projects reaching completion alongside the team’s ongoing support for URI’s critical applications and integrations.
Keeping Core Platforms Current
The team completed several significant platform upgrades this summer, including a PeopleTools upgrade to the University’s PeopleSoft environment and a Perceptive Content 25.1 upgrade for enterprise document management.
Keeping these foundational platforms current helps maintain secure, reliable, and supportable systems while allowing URI to take advantage of new features and vendor improvements.
Advancing Integrations and Automation
Integration and automation were also major areas of focus. The team automated State of Rhode Island Workday integrations and TracCloud data feeds, reducing manual effort and improving reliability.
The team also continued to support and maintain a broad portfolio of integrations connecting Slate, Handshake, Signal Vine, Kuali, and other platforms with URI’s student and human resources systems.
Looking Ahead
Over the next several months, Enterprise Applications will continue work across several major University initiatives. Planned projects include modernizing the Undergraduate Admissions integration with Slate, building new Workday–Campus Solutions integrations, upgrading Rhody Connect, integrating Brightspace with InfoEd, advancing the URI Online Salesforce initiative, and upgrading the Informatica integration platform.
Together, these efforts support the systems and connections that keep information moving across URI and help prepare the University’s technology environment for upcoming changes.
