URI instructions enrolling a landline or non-smart device as a 2FA device in DUO
*****These instructions are meant to provide a way to enroll a 2FA device in DUO such as a landline or non-smart mobile device which does not support the DUO Mobile Application. The process REQUIRES a phone number for second factor authentication. You will need to be able to physically answer the phone that is registered while trying to authenticate ******
- Log in using your URI SSO account and password:

Reset your password yourself by visiting https://password.uri.edu Or call the helpdesk to have your password reset
- Click Start Setup:
- Add Phone number and check the “This is a landline” Box:
NOTE: A landline can be an office phone or a mobile phone number.
- Confirm the phone number
- Confirm Ownership via a text message or phone call
- On the Enrollment Successful screen choose continue
- You will receive a phone call with instructions to press any key on your phone’s keypad. Once the key is pressed you will be authenticated.
