TechSmith, URI’s current provider of screen capture and video editing tools, has decided to retire Knowmia Enterprise service and has announced a strategic partnership with the leading video management system provider, Panopto. The TechSmith and Panopto partnership will leverage TechSmith’s best-in-class screen recording and video editing tools with Panopto’s industry-leading video management system, making it easier for users to create, administer and secure video-based content.

Benefits of migrating to Panopto
Knowmia users will benefit from the following (after migrating to Panopto):
- New, unique features such as Panopto Smart Chapters, for automatically generating a table of contents and visual index of learning sessions and a mobile app for Android and iOS
- Continuity with many Knowmia Enterprise features such as single sign on, LMS integrations, Zoom integration, quizzing, conversations, analytics, captioning and more.
Beginning this fall, TechSmith Camtasia and TechSmith Snagit users will be able to seamlessly export to Panopto, with the latter rolling out an on-boarding programme for Knowmia Enterprise users. Both companies will work together to introduce additional functionality throughout the partnership to enhance ease of use between the tools.
