URI IT SERVICE DESK MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of the IT Service Desk is to serve as the customer service center for all Information Technology Services (ITS) at the University of Rhode Island. We seek to improve the experiences of students, staff, and faculty with technology by providing effective support in the most timely manner. We accomplish this by providing our services in-person, over the phone, virtually through Zoom, and via email.

As the face of IT for the University of Rhode Island community, we strive to uphold the reputation of ITS and set the bar for customer service in the IT industry.

The Service Desk is operated by a large team comprised of five full-time staff members and approximately 40 student employees. Day-to-day operations are managed and carried out by students while full-time staff provides the necessary support and guidance.

Student Staff

The student team at the IT Service Desk run the main operations of the desk, so the people you talk to on the phones, in Zoom and the people that help you out in person are all undergraduate students!
