File Shares
What is it?
NAS01 is the strictly limited ITS provided central file storage system. The infrastructure is located in the ITS Data Center with permissions and access administered via Active Directory (AD). Access is restricted to on-campus and VPN secure remote access.
What can be stored on nas01
ITS centralized storage is for academic and work-related data. Select departments get a top level share which can be structured via sub-directories/folders to meet the needs for sharing and access. There are no individual file shares on NAS01. Individual files can be stored on Google. URI provides limited data center network shares to key departments on campus. Since the move in 2015 to Google Apps for Education (now known as G-Suite), unlimited storage for individual file sharing has been accessible on your Google Drive. Individuals also receive extensive storage located within their Office 365 One Drive. If you are experiencing difficulties accessing a drive you are permitted to access please contact the IT Service Desk for assistance.
