A featured event module is a mobile companion to support a campus-wide event. A temporary icon is created and is located at the top of Rhody Connect’s home screen menu for the duration of the event. The icon leads to sub-page(s) within the app, which may include calendars and agendas requiring real-time updates, proximity messaging, maps, polls, and social components.
These event icons are reserved exclusively for promoting happenings on campus that affect a large audience.

Application Deadline
Applications for Featured Events must be submitted at least 1 month prior to the event to ensure enough time to prepare the content.
Featured Event Content
A featured event consists of one or more pages within the app containing actionable content. Suggested content includes a calendar/daily agenda, registration, maps/wayfinding, and push notifications.
If your application is approved, an IT Innovation Group mobile app team member will meet with you to discuss the best way to create your Feature Event’s sub-pages within the app.
